Full-time Server

Job Summary

As a server at Holiday Grill, you will play a critical role in ensuring guests feel welcomed and enjoy an exceptional dining experience. You’ll provide friendly, efficient service while demonstrating strong knowledge of our menu, carry-out process, and seating/hosting procedures.

Responsibilities

1. Guest Service:

   • Greet and seat guests promptly and warmly.
   • Anticipate guests’ needs and provide outstanding service.
   • Accurately take orders, serve food and beverages, and handle any special requests or dietary restrictions.

2. Menu Knowledge:

   • Memorize the menu, including daily specials, and be able to describe dishes with confidence.
   • Upsell menu items and suggest pairings where appropriate.

3. Carry-Out Expertise:

   • Take carry-out orders efficiently, ensuring accuracy and timely preparation.
   • Double-check all carry-out orders for completeness and quality.
   • Address any concerns or corrections promptly and professionally.

4. Hosting and Seating:

   • Manage the seating chart to ensure smooth operations during peak hours.
   • Greet incoming guests, maintain a clean and organized entry area, and create a welcoming atmosphere.
   • Manage waiting lists and communicate estimated wait times to guests.

5. Cleanliness and Organization:

   • Maintain a clean and organized work area, including tables, booths, and server stations.
   • Assist in restocking supplies, folding napkins, and setting tables as needed.

6. Team Collaboration:

   • Work closely with cooks, kitchen staff, and fellow servers to ensure seamless service.
   • Be proactive in helping teammates during busy periods.

7. Compliance:

   • Follow all health, safety, and sanitation regulations.
   • Adhere to company policies and procedures.

Qualifications

• Previous experience as a server is preferred but not required.
• Excellent communication and customer service skills.
• Ability to multitask and work in a fast-paced environment.
• Positive attitude, strong work ethic, and a sense of urgency.
• Willingness to learn and adapt to new systems and procedures.
• Familiarity with family-style and coney island dining is a plus.
