  • Participate in the preparation and service of three from-scratch meals daily
  • Manage a variety of food allergies and dietary restrictions

  • Additional tasks as assigned

*Please note, Miniwanca is a youth camp located in woodlands of Michigan. Applicants must be able to lift 50 lbs, stand for extended time, and move through potentially rugged terrain.

EMPLOYMENT TYPE

  • Seasonal, Full-Time: June 10th-August 8th, with the opportunity to extend employment before or after this time for some applicants

REQUIREMENTS

  • ASSISTANT position:
    • Be at least 17 years or older
    • Interest in training for a career in Culinary Arts, Food Management, Hospitality, and/or Food Service
    • Minimum of 1 year food service experience and/or culinary training
  • SPECIALIST position:
    • Assistant position requirements plus:
    • Current ServSafe Manager certification
  • LEADER position:
    • Be at least 18 years or older
    • Current ServSafe Manager certification
    • Minimum of 3 years’ food service experience and/or culinary training, with at least 1 year in management or supervisory capacity
    • Experience in a “from scratch” kitchen, managing food allergies and dietary restrictions
    • Receptive to receiving and adept at providing constructive criticism clearly and respectfully

PREFERRED

  • Experience cooking for large groups
  • Experience with dietary restrictions and allergies
